#️⃣ What’s happening: Hashgraph, the technology provider behind the Hedera network, received two cybersecurity milestones: obtaining an ISO 27001 certification and committing to the CISA Secure by Design Pledge.
#️⃣ Why it matters: Hashgraph looks to bridge the gap between traditional industries and decentralized technologies by creating an ecosystem that prioritizes trust and security. The recent security measurements aim to reflect that.
The ISO 27001 certification is an international standard for information security management systems. This means approved applicants develop their infrastructure to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks. Hashgraph was able to pass comprehensive audits and compliance to showcase its security in place from an operational standpoint. In turn, developers and enterprises on the Hedera network can operate knowing their data is protected within these frameworks.
In addition, Hashgraph committed to the CISA Secure by Design Pledge. This means it plans to reinforce its proactive stance on cybersecurity by adopting services like multi-factor authentication and the elimination of default passwords, amongst others. By integrating these services, Hashgraph can make the Hedera ecosystem a secure environment for developers and enterprises.
These accomplishments highlight Hashgraph’s commitment to build a secure, enterprise-grade foundation for decentralized applications. As a result, Hashgraph hopes to strengthen its trust and resilience across the ecosystem through its cybersecurity.
