Highlighting some of the biggest announcements from Sei.
💨 What’s happening: Sei’s user activity recorded an all-time high in May. Its unique active wallets (UAW) and dApp related transactions grew on the month, making Sei a top four gaming blockchain across all categories, DappRadar data shows.
💨 Why it matters: Sei’s UAWs hit 6.62 million, up 116% on the month, across 74 total dApps, led by Sei-based web3 games Hot Spring, Archer Hunter and Kawaii Puzzle. In the past-30 days, Sei also rose by more than 104% to 25.36 million dApp transactions.
Web3 gaming has led Sei’s growth in terms of UAW, with it occupying all top 10 spots for this category. The data shows that Hot Spring leads with 1.2 million UAW over the past month, with World of Dypians rounding out the list at 126,750 UAW.
While some of these dApps are multi-chain, these metrics referenced are from activity on Sei exclusively.
It’s important to note that even though a high UAW count doesn’t necessarily equate to lots of users, as one person can create multiple wallets, it could attract developers and users looking for network activity. This growth in user base could signify to developers and users that there is potential for large amounts of liquidity and activity flowing in the network. More often than not, large amounts of liquidity signals a healthy and sustainable ecosystem that can handle high amounts of capital.
💨 The bigger picture: In general, Sei’s blockchain technology has a strong focus on fast transaction processing and finality. Speed is crucial for web3 gaming and the network’s rise in total wallets signifies more users are choosing Sei for gaming.
In addition, high amounts of UAW and transactions indicates Sei can handle large amounts of users and flow of capital, without compromising its speed or security. Collectively, these metrics make for a strong case on how Sei could facilitate more user activity for both web3 gaming and DeFi.
