Highlighting some of the biggest announcements from Sei.
💨 What’s happening: Over the past 30 days, Sei network has ranked number one amongst all gaming blockchains in unique active wallets (UAW), DappRadar data shows.
💨 Why it matters: The gaming sector has been a major contributor to Sei’s growth in user activity and it’s been ramping up recently. Its UAW rose 77.4%, while dApp related transactions increased 66.34% to 30.16 million, during the same time period.
This growth was led by games such as Archer Hunter, Kawaii Puzzle, FishWar and Dragon Land, which have all risen massively by UAW at 114.5%, 477.55% increase, 119.04%, and 263.85%, respectively.
UAW is a key indicator for web3 gaming because it showcases the amount of wallets interacting with Sei’s gaming dApps. Although high UAWs do not directly correlate with unique users, as individuals may own multiple wallets, recent network activity reflect’s Sei’s proliferation and scalability in the sector.
Since the network focuses on performance, including fast transaction finality and high throughput, it can deliver fast speeds for real-time interactions, something that’s crucial for the success of web3 games.
💨 The bigger picture: Web3 gaming has seen a massive growth spike recently in terms of mindshare. As of last month, gaming has a 19.4% market dominance in terms of UAW in the dApp ecosystem, according to a report by DappRadar. The sector beats out competitors like DeFi and NFTs, which have 19.3% and 15.5%, respectively.
The data shows that Sei network is aligning well with the broader trends of web3 gaming. The network integrates technological infrastructure like AI-driven characters and account abstraction. In tandem with the growth in user activity Sei has seen, the blockchain has positioned itself as a leader in the web3 gaming space.
If trends continue heading into the full integration of its Giga network upgrade, Sei could lead as the blockchain for gaming.
