Who is David Case?

Case is one of the most prolific developers in BSV. Wuckert introduces him and points out that it is more likely that he placed more transactions on BSV alone than anyone else. Case says he’s probably still standing, and he’s willing to tackle something that he’s been hooked on since he first discovered it.

What is the best advice for BSV app builders?

The case states that you need to remember that Bitcoin transactions are a tool that can be used for any modeling. This is a fundamental concept, as it opens you to what this technology can use.

When building an app specifically, he encourages developers to think about what they are trying to achieve first. Tools and apps should always be designed with this goal in mind. How they are shaped and used is always relevant to this goal.

Bitcoin Stack and Tools

Wuckert points out how there are data tools, token indexers, and how there are currently overlay services. He asks the case to look into them and say what they best.

Starting with the data tools, the case highlights Whatsonchain and Junglebus. They are similar to the data collected, but have unique features in presenting that data and the insights that may be derived from them. For example, WhatsonChain allows transaction tagging, and Junglebus has a customizable data pipeline.

Turning to the overlay network, the case states that it retrieves transactions that are processed from a particular external logic or rule. These rules may be related to users, apps, subscriptions, or otherwise. The overlay network does not need to collect and process all transactions. It can also be shared with other networks.

If you had a magic wand and a billion dollars, what would you want to fix?

Wuckert often asks this question and he gives the case the opportunity to answer it. The case corresponds to a huge number of solutions being 80-90% complete and I want to see them being finished and combined.

Doing this is a game changer, allowing many Web 2.0 tools and apps to be replaced with the Web 3.0 version in an efficient and streamlined way. This allows you to bring everything together and unlock the full potential of the BSV blockchain.

In this respect, the case highlights how Bitcoin is a canvas that allows people to do many things differently. There is a tiny line between standardization and freedom to develop something with maximum flexibility.

Answered viewer questions

Wuckert will open a stream to viewer questions and he and the case will answer between them.

Q. Isn’t Bitcoin an open source project?

Something like Teranode is an implementation and comes with a license agreement. However, public chains are open source and only after Bitcoin was launched.

Q. Is the BSV Association in the way as a developer?

According to the case, the BSV Association (BSVA) has begun to be involved in the past 12-18 months. But they were supportive rather than getting in his way. They are helpful and funding multiple projects.

Q. How is Terranode progressing? When will it be live?

Wuckert answers this. Tar has already mined blocks in the mainnet, and I have heard about Gorilla Pool and others. Everyone warms up before the race and is eager to look forward to the final check. It’s better to be patient and make sure it’s released without bugs or errors than hurrying it.
